Rob ( http://thearmycollector.blogspot.com/ ) and I have been slowly working on casting 40mm figures from Prince August molds to try our hand at the NQSYW project some gamers back East are doing. We are planning on using the Charge! rules, as is traditional.
Today that project took a large step forward.
It was an uncharacteristically cool day for Kansas City at the end of July. It started off in the high 50s and ended up in the high 70s. In short, a perfect day for casting toy soldiers. We have quite a number of molds between us, and each managed to cast up 2 companies, one each of grenadiers and musketeers. After running one piece cavalry molds many times, we each ended up with one cavalryman. I keep getting a big divot in the side of the hussar's horse, and I am not sure what to do about it.
Between casting a bunch of toy soldiers, good conversation and Thai food for lunch, all in all a very successful day.
Sounds like a wonderful day all round, well done gentlemen.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't read your post before making mine, and we wrote almost exactly the same thing. Glad our stories match!
